What is High Tech Attic?

A classifieds-style board for indie SaaS — developers, marketers, testers, designers, co-founders, and collaborators post Offer/Wanted listings, message each other, use the forum, and optionally buy sidebar ads. Sign up free and you can post and participate right away.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. Listings, profiles, and forum threads are publicly readable. Create a free account to favorite items, use your dashboard, post listings, message members, comment, review, use the forum, and (optionally) buy sidebar ad slots.

Is membership free?

Yes. When you sign up, you become a member immediately — no credit card required. You can post listings, send DMs, comment, use the forum, leave reviews, and report content. See Pricing for details.

What can Members do?

  • Post up to 10 classified listings (draft or published)
  • Send and receive direct messages (including group chats)
  • Comment on listings and post in the forum
  • Leave and reply to member reviews
  • Report content for moderation

When is the $9 fee charged?

Only to restore membership after it was revoked for breaking our Terms. New accounts do not pay. The restore fee is one-time (not a subscription) and generally non-refundable except where required by law or if we made a billing error. Ad slots are separate cancel-anytime subscriptions billed monthly.

Can my membership be revoked?

Yes, for spam, harassment, illegal content, or other Terms violations. You can usually restore membership by paying the $9 fee again unless you are permanently banned. Paused listings are kept briefly so you can restore them after rejoining.

What happens to my classified listings if membership is revoked?

Your published listings are paused — hidden from Discover and member tools stop, but the listing content is saved for about 30 days. If you restore membership in time, you can republish them from Dashboard → Member. After that window, paused listings may be deleted. This is separate from paid sidebar ad slots (sponsor placements), which have their own monthly subscription and billing.

What is a permanent ban?

For serious or repeated violations we blacklist the email. No new accounts, no restore purchase. Active subscriptions end at the period close.

How do I manage billing?

Dashboard → Billing for membership status and ad subscriptions. Membership is free on signup; restore fees (if any) and ad slots appear there. Cancel ad subscriptions anytime (access until period end). Stripe Customer Portal covers invoices and payment methods.

What is the 10-listing limit?

Each member has 10 slots. One listing per slot. To free a slot, delete a listing or keep it as an unpublished draft (drafts stay in your dashboard but stay off Discover). Published listings appear in the public feed.

Do edits bump my listing to the top?

Yes — meaningful content edits can move a listing to the top of Newest. To keep the feed fair, each listing allows up to 3 content edits per day. Publish/unpublish alone does not count toward that limit.

What are the 20 Ad Slots?

Featured sidebar placements shown site-wide. Each slot is $99/month. You need a signed-in account — membership is not required. Manage slots under Dashboard → Sponsor or the Advertise page. Sponsors keep this community running — we truly appreciate every one of you.

How do ads appear?

On desktop, ads rotate in the left and right sidebars (about every 40 seconds). On mobile, a compact strip at the bottom shows active sponsors.

Is there a forum?

Yes — browse at /forum. Reading is open; starting threads and replies requires a free member account.

How do member reviews work?

Members can rate other members 1–5 stars with optional text on their profile. The reviewed member can reply. Reviews are public and reportable.

How does reporting work?

Report listings, comments, forum posts, DMs, and reviews. Reports enter an admin queue. We may remove content, revoke membership, or permanently ban for serious or repeated abuse.
